Bass Player: Electric and Upright | Singer | Songwriter | Producer
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Bass Player, Johnny Pisano has toured internationally in the music scene for over 30 years. Working with artists both in recording studios and on the road, Johnny has performed alongside Bruce Springsteen, Billie Joe Armstrong, Steven Van Zandt, Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, Mike Peters, Ryan Adams, Willie Nile, Jesse Malin, Deborah Harry, Kate Pierson (B-52’s), Leonard Graves Phillips (The Dickies), Cheetah Chrome, Peter Criss, David Johansen, Robert Gordon, Jimmy Vivino, Glen Matlock, Handsome Dick Manitoba, The Counting Crows, Nancy Pelosi, Fred Armisen (“SNL”), and many, many more.
Johnny’s various bass lines, songwriting, and vocal contributions can be heard on Ryan Adams’ “Rock N Roll” and “Love Is Hell Part 1, and Part 2,” Marky Ramone and the Intruders’ “The Answer to Your Problems,” The Alarm’s “Strength 2015,” Willie Nile’s “Hard Times in the UK,” “American Ride,” “World War Willie,” and “Positively Bob,” Jesse Malin’s “To Be Somebody” (Bellvue), “The Fine Art of Self Destruction,” “The Heat,” and various singles, including “Broken Radio,” featuring Bruce Springsteen and many other artists.
His television appearances include MTV, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” VH1’s “The Big Morning Buzz,” and “The Artie Lange Show.” He has played electric and upright bass on the soundtrack for the film, “A Perfect Stranger,” starring Bruce Willis, and has appeared playing bass on TV shows such as “The Affair,” “Damages,” “White Collar,” “666 Park Avenue,” “Smash,” “Onion News,” “Forever,” and more.
His film acting credits include Duke Jupiter, in “One Night Only,” a short film by Ashley Denton, Doctor Mancini in “Gossiping Grams” by Andi Poland, and Mason, in “Staring at the Sun,” by Harry Greenberger.
He has played on Broadway and across the U.S. with “50 Shades the Musical” and in the pit of the completely improvised musical, “Baby Wants Candy.” He has performed with The Charlotte NC and Omaha NE Symphony Orchestras in “A Tribute to The Rolling Stones.”
Johnny has made cameo appearances in “Vinyl,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “The Sopranos,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Delivery Man,” “Person of Interest,” “Royal Pains,” “Gotham,” “Law & Order,” “White Collar,” “Unforgettable,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Definitely Maybe,” “I Hate Valentine’s Day,” “Onion News/Sports Dome,” “Human Giant,” and more.
Johnny recently released his debut album, “Johnny Pisano’s Punk Rock Pizzeria,” a collection of material he has written over the past 20 years. It is available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
